Wrinkles are not good to look at- and perhaps everyone could attest to that. These fine and sometimes even coarse lines in the face, neck and other prominent parts of the body are the most averted things which heralds aging. No doubt many people, men or women, act out early in order to prevent these things from happening.
One of the theories of living is that of our body being subjected to wear and tear, physically, psychologically and socially. Because of the constant situations and events which wear our body, we go through the process of deterioration. Sooner or later, we start to feel our bodies become stiff, our motions limited and our faces starting to sag and lose elasticity.
It is said that exercise can greatly reduce if not limit the occurrence of these early signs of aging. Proper exercise maintains our muscle tone and flexibility. It also keeps our joints functioning, lessening the stiffness and limited range-of-motion movements.
Facial Exercise
This may sound weird but it’s pretty effective. Facial exercises help keeping our facial muscles strong and tonic. By maintaining the tonicity of our facial muscles, we lessen the possibility of sagging cheeks and stiff facial expressions as we age.
Massaging the face softly with clean hands is a good way of keeping the blood flow adequate. It also enhances the appearance and color of our face. Do this massage especially on the T-area of the face (the nose and the forehead, and also the cheeks). Jaw exercises are also helpful in keeping the mouth and jaw loose and relaxed.
It doesn’t take much of a time in doing this type of exercise- in fact you can do it as you wake up, or while you’re in the office.
Aerobic Exercises
Aerobic exercises are very important in preventing age-related disorders. First and foremost, by keeping a regular exercise schedule, you keep your physique strong and flexible. Apart from that regular exercise can keep your weight at a desirable BMI (Body Mass Index) and eventually lowers your risk of developing heart related diseases. As we all know, cardiovascular diseases are usually brought about by lifestyle so nothing else could counteract it but an active and healthy lifestyle and routine.
Exercise also promotes the cellular uptake of glucose thus keeping our blood sugar level at a normal range. Diseases such as diabetes can be avoided by keeping an active lifestyle through exercise. Joint and muscle pains due to rheumatism and arthritis can also be avoided because exercise keeps our muscles and joints flexible and perky.
There is no doubt that exercise can bring a lot of benefits. However, this idea is most often neglected by many due to limitations such as daily chores, jobs, and many other responsibilities. It is a must to the stress the importance of exercise and active lifestyle to many people especially those who are starting to age. It not only makes us look good physically, more so, it lowers our risk of having lifestyle related diseases.
